ELECTIVE Part 2 - OCTOBER 2025
ELECTIVE Part 2 - OCTOBER 2025
Mr. Lavine
This Quarter, students in Math Learning Lab are continuing to lock in and grow their math skills each and every day. We're focusing on building blocks and foundational skills to set our students up for success. In preparation for Halloween, we're doing plenty of ~spooky~ math!
Who thinks they can show the most growth this semester?
Mrs. Maldonado
It’s been a busy month in ELA learning lab! Students have been diving into some spooky and fascinating reading—annotating stories about the Salem Witch Trials, vampires, and even the mysterious Chupacabra. They’ve been comparing and contrasting these tales, uncovering deeper themes, and sharpening their critical thinking skills. On top of that, they’re conquering their weekly i-Ready lessons like pros! Keep up the great work!
Mr. Matsushita
The yearbook students have been pretty active for picture taking. They have been visiting some after school sports and clubs, and even out of campus sports events. This quarter will get busier since they will be doing the same thing and editing the actual yearbook as well.
Mr. Falzarano
Hoping everyone had a restful Fall Break! Students are working on various activities and labs. 7th graders are building their Kratky bottles for the Kratky Hydroponics challenge. 6th graders are exploring the micro-world. 8th graders are measuring Magnetic Force.
Mr. Ikehara / Mr. Matsushita
Students have done an excellent job planning out and participating in the haunted house. Despite the sudden changes, they adapted very well in order to make the haunted house a successful event. The creativity, dedication, and positive energy they bring to the table is always appreciated from the community.
Mrs. Morimoto
Second quarter began in October! 6th and 7th grade leadership wheel students began the quarter defining leadership. For 8th graders, October was a busy month as they continued to practice leadership by running Student Council meetings, hosting the Recognition Ceremony, and more!
Mr. Otaka
We had a busy start to the quarter! 6th graders used Tinkercad to create 3D models for a variety of challenges, including the character challenge and the dream room challenge. 7th graders learned the fundamentals of coding in Swift, from functions to logical operators. And 8th graders built a Lego EV3 and programmed it to accomplish some movement challenges.
