ELECTIVE Part 1 - OCTOBER 2025
Mr Watanabe.
6th Grade:
Students are currently wrapping up their foot orthosis project. Students needed to design and build a foot orthosis for a child who would be proud to wear it everyday.
7th Grade:
Students just wrapped up their brushbot race activity. Students needed to build a brushbot using basic circuitry and get their brushbot to go forward and fast. Next they will be turning that same bot into a battlebot.
8th Grade:
Students are working on their first wood project, the paper towel holder. Everything is customized by them using handtools. They are making their vision into a reality.
To review our classroom expectations, students worked together to spell out answers faster than other groups. Teen Health students learned about serving sizes and also started their Media Ready curriculum with Ms. Maddie & Ms. Ale. Home Ec students are learning basic sewing techniques in preparation for their sewing projects.

This month in chorus, students sightreading is really taking off! They are now able to read music in different time signatures, they can sightread examples that do not begin on "do," and they are able to read multi-line examples. In addition, we have started learning music for our Winter Concert which will be held on December 11. It's a very exciting time in our classroom.
Ms. Pilato
In October, our Ag. Tech class kicked off the second quarter by welcoming all new students to our group. To get to know each other better, we created Farmer Profiles, sharing our interests and goals in agriculture. We then began an introduction to botany, learning the basics of plant science and growth. To wrap up the month, we put our new knowledge into practice by planting our own seeds, an exciting start to our hands-on learning this quarter!
