Green Card Voices

These interviews, recorded in April 2024 in partnership with Green Card Voices, feature seventeen students from Chuuk, Marshall Islands, Philippines, Pohnpei, American Sāmoa, and Tonga. The students share about their experiences migrating to Hawai'i, and touch on on themes of loss, sacrifice, resilience, and hope for the future. The interviews gave them an opportunity to tell their story in their own words, stories that are often not heard, and highlight the contributions they hope to make in their new home. Students also share about their experiences during the pandemic.

Hawai'i Public Radio aired a story on the Green Card Voices: Hawai'i project on June 27, 2024.
