- 1 1/2 cup brown rice, uncooked
- 3 3/4 cups water
- 1 tbs butter
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2x 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- In medium sauce pan, bring water to a boil.
- Add rice, stir, cover, and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- At the 30 minute mark, brown ground beef in a large sauce pan.
- Add 1/2 tsp salt, basil, oregano, and thyme.
- When the rice is done, add butter and 1/2 tsp salt.
- When the butter has been incorporated into the rice, dump rice into the larger pan with the ground beef.
- Mix generously.
