Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Learn more.

  • Guiding principles: Positive self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationships, responsible decision making skills.
  • Objective: JSD students would demonstrate evidence of all five guiding principles upon graduation in relation to the JSD Graduate Profile.

Wrap-around services

Objective: All students will have access to comprehensive spectrum of services that ensure physical, social, and mental wellness and compliance.

School Psychologist

  • Objective: Elementary Target, 1 counselor/500 students
  • Objective: Secondary Target, 1 secondary counselor per 350 students.
