Di you know that there are 545 students on the Upper School campus? Even though our school has a small-school atmosphere, it's hard to get to know everyone. We pass each other in the halls, and see many familiar faces, but we don't always have a chance to get to know everyone. The student spotlight feature is a way for us to get to know more of our fellow students.
Jonah plays piano, trumpet, and some guitar and has a strong ear for music. He also sings for his church. His most memorable experience this year was being elected drum major and leading an amazing band. His peers would desribe him as energetic and enthusiastic. He tries not plan too far ahead in the future. He admires Jesus. He values his piano. His one wish is that all temptations and burdens leave him. He likes the show Family Feud. Something that he is proud of is that he can play stride piano, which is "a style of jazz piano playing in which the right hand plays the melody while the left hand alternates between a single note and a chord played an octave or more higher."
Lindsay is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She spends much of her free time playing travel softball. Her most memorable experience this year is offshore fishing. Her peers would describe her as talkative and athletic. In ten years she hopes to have a good life. The person she admires the most is her uncle because he is hardworking. Her most valued possession is her softball equipment. She wishes to live her dream life. Her favorite shows are Good Girls And Outer Banks. As a member of the JV volleyball team as an eighth grader, Lindsay has a bright future ahead.
Ben is one of five boys. Some of his hobbies outside of school are football and fishing. His most memorable experience this year was the pink game. His peers describe him as funny and caring. In ten years he sees himself living in a 10 million dollar house and working as a brain surgeon. The person he admires the most is his mom because she is always there for him. His most valued possession is a necklace from his great grandma. He wishes to time travel. His favorive show is Manifest. He is proud to be a John Curtis Patriot.
Keva owns goats and horses. She loves working out. Her most memorable experience this year was the pink game. Her peers would describe as kind and funny. In ten years she wants to find herself training for the Olympic games. A person that she is inspired by is Justin Horne because of his work ethic. She says really doesn't value physical things. She wishes for everyone to experience the love of God. Her favorite show is Degrassi: Next Class. Her greatest accomplishments are hitting 315 on the squat for 3 and leading some of her peers to Christ.
