"SERVICE ABOVE SELF"
By Abbi Curtis
Interact Club is an organization that allows 9th-12th grade students to serve their community and the people in their community. The term "service above self" means that you, as an individual, serve others before you serve yourself. Interact Club gives you various life skills that you can carry with you forever. The members of this club vary from freshman to seniors. The service projects that they will do over the year are projects and games with the residents at the Blake Senior Living Facility, volunteering for the Special Olympics, volunteering at the JCCS Early Learning Center, and many more! The Interact Club meets every other Thursday in Room H-4. It is not too late to join if you would like to become a member!

PAINTING CLASS AT THE BLAKE
The JCCS Interact Club got the chance to spend a morning at The Blake Senior Living Facility to teach a painting on canvas class. Both the students and the senior residents had a wonderful time painting a fall pumpkin scene. Cassadie Worley said, "Being involved in my community allows me to connect with people that are a part of my community and school life. This organization allows me to grow closer with the school and the people involved in this club." Mrs. Guillie, the Interact Club sponsor said she is looking forward to continuing a partnership with The Blake for future service projects.
