Working Hard or Hardly Working?
Having to manage both school and work is very difficult for most students. Some students attend school all day and then have work right after, or, school all week and then work on the weekends. Either way, it can be very tiring to manage both a school schedule and a work schedule. The best way to succeed is to make sure you put your best effort into both and manage your time well. A lot of high school students have jobs so they can make their own money, but how do they manage both?

Heaven is a junior, and she has two jobs. She works at Starbucks and is also a party host. Heaven got a job because she wanted to learn independence. Having a job has taught her how to save her money responsibly. She says that balancing school and work can sometimes be difficult. Her advice to everyone trying to manage both is to plan in advance. In doing so, you will have a set schedule and can responsibly manage your school and work schedule.

Taylor is a junior and she works at a grocery store. She decided to get a job because she had a lot of free time and wanted to learn how to be independent. Taylor finds it extremely hard at times to balance her school and work schedule. Her advice to everyone trying to balance both is to make sure your priorities are right. If your priorities are not straight, you will have a hard time doing either one to the best of your ability.

Keva is a junior and she works at a gym. Managing school and work is not hard for her because she made sure her hours were on the weekends. She decided to get a weekend job to keep her busy and to be self-sufficient. She makes her own money so she doesn't have to ask her parents for money.
If you want to balance school and work, find what works best for you! If your schedule is too busy during the week, a weekend job can be a good option. Having a job can teach independence, life skills, and how to responsibly save money.
