Guests are provided access via the web or Loxone app to the control options made available to them—particularly heating, sleep mode, and much more. This access is granted only for the duration of their stay. For many guests, this is a special highlight. They can even set their preferred temperature on the way from the airport to the apartment and customize the lighting ambiance. Thanks to the expandable capabilities of the Loxone control, you can do much more.
However, it is a special add-on designed for guests with high standards and interest. Many guests simply want to sleep peacefully—adjusting the temperature with a few clicks, turning the lights on and off, and nothing more. For many, the app control can be overwhelming, especially for older generations.
For this reason, we strongly recommend using the powerful Loxone solution, known as the Touch-Pure-Flex. This user-friendly, compact display offers the most important controls directly in the room through an intuitive and simple interface. Drawing on our decades of experience, we have developed a minimalist solution that we highly recommend to our customers. It is offered as an add-on; while not mandatory, it is highly beneficial.
Here you can find our template configuration. You can copy it and customize it for your specific needs.
The Loxone-Touch-Pure-Flex provides icons that can be clicked and then modified using the up or down arrows. Functions can be activated either by clicking on the icon or by using the up or down arrows. Each icon has an associated text that is displayed when the icon is clicked; the same applies to the arrows. You remain in the context of the clicked icon until you select a different one or until an adjustable idle timeout occurs (the default value is 10 seconds). This is how we fundamentally use the Touch-Pure-Flex.
We mainly distinguish between two types of functions:
Functions that can be toggled on and off. For these, we do not support the use of the up or down arrows—instead, we rely on the icon’s primary function.
Icons with multiple selection options. For these, we fully rely on the up and down arrows and do not assign a primary function. This means that clicking on such icons initially does nothing; you must use the arrows to select an option. However, we provide a help text upon clicking that offers guidance on how to navigate using the arrows.
In some important or exceptional situations, we support long-click. We use long-click only when accidental activation of an icon could cause issues and a deliberate decision is required (activating the alarm). We also use it for exceptional cases or rarely used functionalities (switching off all lights). In the case of a long-click, we always display a hint in the display text of the icon.
Display text is limited to 6 characters. If the text is longer, the entire text will be scrolled. We are marking the first six characters: "This is a longer text ..."
Icons in the first column (1/1, 2/1, 3/1) also support a status LED.
This function allows guests to exit and lock the room, meaning that re-entry requires re-entering the access code. It is one of the primary and most sensitive features, with detailed descriptions and implementation guidelines available here.
To prevent accidental activation, a long-click mechanism is implemented to ensure that triggering this function is a deliberate decision by the guest. The long-click initiates a delayed arming process and provides the guest with an adjustable time period—typically one minute—to leave the room.
During this period, the status LED blinks rapidly, and the status text displays the remaining time until the alarm is activated. At any time during this countdown, the guest can cancel the process with a single click, returning the room to a disarmed state.
Once the room is armed, the status LED remains continuously lit. No further actions are possible from this point; the guest must leave the room and re-enter the access code to gain entry again.
Technical Hints
Implement a push button on the user interface that is available to guests. The Touch Pure Flex should be connected exclusively to this button. This push button controls the burglar alarm function block. Read more about burglar alarm status handling here.
Input "Adnp": when the current burglar alarm status is disarmed.
Input "Off": when the current burglar alarm status is arming.
Do nothing: when the current burglar alarm status is armed.
Long Click:
Use a shorter time for the long click than what is displayed. For example, implement a 3-second long click while displaying 5 seconds to the guests. This ensures that the guest holds the button for the required duration.
Position: Row 1, Columns 1-3. Hint: This is the most important action; therefore, we are using the entire first row.
Display Text: "Press for 5 seconds to exit and close the door"
Function: Pressing the "Exit & Arme" push button
Status LED: Disarmed: Off, Arming: Blinks rapidly (0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off), Armed: On
Arrow Up/Down: Not supported.
This function enables guests to prepare the room for sleep. Lights, ventilation, and heating can be adjusted, blinds can be lowered, and much more can be controlled to ensure the highest quality of experience. More information about Sleep Mode can be found here.
For Sleep Mode, a switch is implemented that is also visible on the guest user interface. The Touch Pure Flex exclusively triggers this switch.
Switch button triggering functions are as follows: Text "Sleep" in Sleep Mode; Auto when Sleep is off; Arrow Down indicates the switch button is off; Arrow Up indicates the switch button is on; and the display text shows "Auto."
Position: Row 2, Column 1
Display Text: "SLEEP" if the sleep mode is active, otherwise "AUTO"
Function: Switch button Tg-input
Status LED: Sleep mode active: On, Otherwise: Off
Arrow Up function: Switch button On-input
Arrow Up Display Text: "SLEEP"
Arrow Down function: Switch button Off-input
Arrow Down Display Text: "AUTO"
Unfortunately, this simple function still causes the most difficulties for guests. Loxone supports a very intelligent and powerful lighting control system based on lighting moods —you can read more about it here.
The greatest challenge is turning off the lights, whether using the Touch Pure Flex or the Touch Pure light switch. Most guests are accustomed to clicking the switch once to turn on the lights and clicking it again to turn them off, but that is not the case with our system.
To achieve and simplify this, we have found that the best experience is achieved when turning off the lights is also implemented as a lighting mood accessible via plus and minus inputs of the lighting controller (m+, m-).
The default "Bright" lighting mood, identified by ID 99, is always set to the first position, while the "Off" lighting mood is set to the last position. If the lights are activated automatically, most guests will select the "Bright" mood automatically —that is, the first option. Consequently, scrolling backward using the down arrow button brings them to the last lighting scene, which is designated for "Off." The result is as follows: when the light icon is clicked and then the down arrow is pressed, the lights will turn off. Although it still requires two clicks, appropriate help text ensures that the process remains intuitive for guests.
Position: Row 2, Column 2
Display Text: "-OFF/+NEXT MOOD"
Function: not supported
