Jacksonville Elementary School - First Grade

My name is Monique Polk and I am so excited to once again be part of the 1^st grade team here at Jacksonville Elementary! I was born and raised in Sherwood, Arkansas which is also where I still currently reside. I have one fur baby named Bella, and she is two years old. This is my second year teaching and I am so thrilled to start off another amazing year. I look forward to year full of learning!

Hey there! My name is Ashley Gann. I am so excited for this year and to be your child's 1st grade teacher. I have been married for 7 years to my husband Aaron and we have 3 children. Lilly (14), Avery (10), and Carson (12) who attend Cabot Schools where I am from. I received my Bachelor's degree in History with a minor and Criminal Justice. I am obsessed with Harry Potter and I love to read. Movies are also a big thing in our house. I can not wait to see what this school year will bring for all of us.

My name is Tiffinie Martin and I want to welcome you and your child to my first grade class. I want to share a little about myself with you. I have been married for 22 years next month to my college sweetheart, Mark Martin (not the race car driver). We have two boys, Drake, 20, and Kade, 16. I have a Master’s in Arts in Teaching from UCA and many years of experience working with children. It truly is my passion. I love to learn and know your child will teach me daily as I stretch their minds and watch them grow. Here at JES I have been an Academic Interventionist, and I have taught 3rd, 1st, and 2nd grade’s. I am excited about all this school year holds for us and getting to know you and your child. So again, WELCOME!

I am KorTasia Evans. I am originally from Hot Springs, AR. I have been married for 3.5 years with two children. I graduated from Henderson State University with my Bachelors and Masters. I am also working on my Ed. Specialist Degree from Henderson State and my Doctorate from Walden University. This is my 7th year teaching and my second in first grade. I am looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year.

Hello everyone! My name is Olivia Juarez. I am so glad to have you and get to know you. This is my first year of teaching. I am from NWA and now live in Conway. I also just recently got married to my best friend since High School. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was your age because I wanted to challenge myself and others. We are going to learn a lot this year but also have fun. I can’t wait!

Virtual Academy Teacher

My name is Katie Meyers. This will be my sixth year teaching. I have lived in Jacksonville most of my life and I love this town. My hobbies include reading and learning new things, drawing and painting, petting dogs, and taking road trips. Before I became a teacher, I went to school for art and design. I love collecting all sorts of things and I especially love the drawings my students make. I look forward to seeing my old students grow and meeting new students each year. I look forward to working hard together with my scholars and their families.
