This unit examines the various ways that chemists measure and calculate with amounts of chemicals. The center-piece of Chemical Quantities is the Mole. In this unit you will:
- Define the mole in three ways, relate the three and discuss the significance of each.
- Convert among the number of particles, moles and mass of a substance.
- Find the percentage composition of a substance.
- Use percentage composition or experimental data to determine the formula of a substance.
- Determine the empirical and/or molecular formula for a compound.
