Half-day Friday!
Bible: In the upcoming week students will continue their unit about Church History and have a Friendzy lesson with their 5th grade buddies. We will discuss how the culture during the early church had an impact on the gospel and the differences of religious viewpoints of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Students will also continue their Church Project. This essay has students researching their church they attend and interviewing some of its members.

Friendzy: This month’s Friendzy focus is KNOW YOUR LIMIT!
It teaches us about the importance of setting healthy boundaries by listening to our mind, body, and heart so we live within our limits and thrive. We will use Psalm 16:5-6 ,“Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”
We are created to thrive within specific physical, emotional and spiritual boundaries. When we help students understand these God-given limits, we are guiding them toward safety, wisdom and the true freedom that comes from living within God’s will in all of our relationships.

This week in math we continue our unit on chapter 8: Exponents. We will review at the start of the week, prepping for a test on the first half of the Chapter. After completing the assessment, we will learn the second half of chapter 8; scientific notation. Students will learn how to move the decimal and write numbers as multiples of powers of 10.

This week we will continue Chapter 7, Polynomials. Students will learn how to classify a polynomial, learning what the degree is and how many terms it has. We will learn to FOIL and Factor, discovering special situations such as perfect squares, completing the square, and difference of squares.

This week, students will be applying their knowledge of active and passive voice. We will also be discussing incorrect shifts in voice in writing and editing sentences to fix this error. At the end of the week, we will transition to learning about verb mood.

Science: In the upcoming week students will continue their unit on Electromagnetic Force. We will discover properties of magnetism, magnetic fields, and variables that affect magnetic attraction.

Social Studies: We will begin by discussing how a just war differs from a total war, and how some Christian philosophers thought Christians should deal with the idea of fighting a just war. We will then move to the end of the Civil War, and how the Confederacy dealt with their loss.
