 Week of March 2-6

Language Arts: 

Learning Targets - This week, we will introduce our next reading unit for the year. Students will read aloud, A Long Walk to Water.  We will also build background knowledge to help us better understand our novels.

Bible: 

Learning Targets:  This week, we will continue our unit on prayer.  We will discuss how various biblical figures prayed, and how we can apply they way they pray to our own lives.

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week in science we will continue our unit on Diversity of Life. This week, we will start to focus on plant reproduction. Students will learn the various parts of a plant, understanding how plant characteristics such as smell, color, petal shape, etc. affect the reproduction of the plant. We will also learn about pollinators and their important role in plant reproduction, as well as how soil salinity affects plant growth.

Social Studies: We will continue our discussion of the core beliefs of Islam.  We will then discuss some of the early Islamic empires after the death of Muhammad.

Math: In the upcoming week students will begin their next unit on Probability. We will be discovering how to find theoretical and experimental probabilities.
