This week in math we will continue our unit on Chapter 2: Transformations. We will be working with shapes (mainly triangles) and learning the various graph transformations - dilations, rotations, reflections, translations. Students will learn how the vertices' coordinates change based on the transformations and how the shape is affected. This week we will focus largely on rotations and congruent figures.

This week we will continue our unit on Chapter 5, systems of equations. We will review the three methods for solving systems: Solving by graphing, substitution, and elimination. This week, we will learn how to represent all the possible solutions to a given systems of inequalities. We will learn how to represent these through equations and graphs, shading as necessary. Students will assess twice this week, looking at a final test next week.

This week we will continue our nonfiction reading unit. We will be reading Four Perfect Pebbles by Lila Perl and Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a true story about a family who was greatly impacted by the Holocaust. Throughout this unit, we will be building our knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust in order to better understand the story.
