 Week of February 9-12

Language Arts: 

Learning Targets - This week, we will review Simple, Compound, and complex sentences. Then, we will work on writing compound-complex sentences.

Bible: 

Learning Targets: This week, we will focus on Jeremiah and his pantomime preaching style. We will also discuss how Jeremiah prophesied of the coming Messiah.

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week in science we will continue our unit on Diversity of Life. We will begin investigation 4, learning all about bacteria, fungi, and archaea. We will learn about the intricacies of each cell so that we can compare to human cells, identifying similarities and differences and which cell is most similar to ours. We will do a few in-class investigations, exploring how bacteria can spread and the ways they reproduce.

Social Studies: We will begin the week by taking a closer look into Charlamagne and his empire.  We will do this by filling out a DBQ in our table groups.  We will then start to learn about the beginnings of feudalism, and how that economic system dominated Europe for hundreds of years.

Math: In the upcoming week students will continue their unit on Percents. We will be solving increase and decrease percent problems.
