From the Phoenix Health Office - Nurse Rachel
Our vaccine and physical clinic is scheduled for January 26th.
Our health services immunization team and nurse practitioners will be at school, providing missing immunizations and physicals. Students who are not compliant with state regulations have come home with packets with the paperwork needed. Packets are due January 25th.
If you DID NOT receive the packet, please email me (v.rgold@jefferson.kyschools.us) and we will get one sent over to you. We will also be reaching out by phone this week to finalize.

JCPS Exceptional Child Education (ECE) Family Workshop Series
Do you have questions about your student going to college?
Join us to learn about the application process, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), housing, and other resources. This is a repeated series. To get the most from these workshops, participants should come with their Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID verified. Otherwise, the presenters will be able to assist with applying for the FSA ID and explain the FAFSA process, but the application cannot be completed until the FSA is verified. All workshops are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

11th Graders - ACT Parental Consent Form
Each year, Kentucky public school students in grade eleven (11) are required by state law to take a standard college entrance exam. In addition, in Fall 2022, KDE is providing an opportunity for students in grade twelve (12) to take or retake the ACT. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) administers the ACT for this purpose. Below is information to help parents understand the non-test activity accompanying the actual test. The KDE Office of Assessment and Accountability requests you read this information, complete the consent portion, and return it to your student’s school.

Attention all high school students... The High School Valentine's Dance is Friday, February 9 from 6:30-9:30 in the gym. This will be a semi-formal event. Tickets will go on sale starting January 22 for $5 per person! If you are bringing a non-Phoenix student you must turn in a guest form one week prior to the event. See Mrs. Rapp for guest forms and questions.

Senior Graduation and 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
The earliest we will find out about Senior graduation is after Spring Break. The Board of Education will vote on this. It depends on whether we miss any more days.
8th grade ceremony is decided by The Phoenix. Usually, we wait until late April. Typically, it is the last day of school or the day before.
Home Chromebooks for the 2023-24 School Year
Students who have had a Parent/Guardian request a Chromebook for home have started receiving those during their 7th period classes. If your student does bring one home, please remind them to take care of their device and the charging adapter, as there is a replacement fee for both.

School Year Calendar
The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) approved an updated 2023-24 school year calendar that maintains all required pupil and employee days without lengthening the end of the school year despite school closures in August.
Jan. 8, 2024 are now regular school days for students and staff. The last day of the 2023-24 school year for students will remain May 24, 2024.
