Instructional Support

I am delighted to join the Norton team! I began my teaching journey many years ago! I attended Indiana University Southeast for both my Graduate and Master’s Degrees. I started my career at JCPS at Wilt Elementary and spent 17 years teaching 4th grade. After earning my Gifted & Talented Endorsement, I transitioned to the role of GT interventionist. I love teaching and working with kids. My favorite subjects are science and reading. I enjoy reading, hiking, baking, and art. My family enjoys traveling, especially to spots where we can explore and try new things. I have a wonderful husband named Brad. My son, Alex, is a Sophomore at North Oldham and Emma, my daughter, will start 6th grade this year. We have two dogs, Bella & Sophie, who are spoiled rotten.

The 2023-24 school year is my 26th year in education. I have held many positions and roles throughout my career but being the Academic Instructional Coach (AIC) at Norton is my favorite of all of them!

As the AIC, I am busy overseeing all things curriculum, instruction, and student data! I work mostly with teachers and grade level teams to provide appropriate instruction for all of our learners at Norton. I manage the MAP assessments, compile and analyze student data, plan and organize schedules, and many other behind-the-scenes duties including afternoon car pool!

This year is my 9th year teaching. I taught 2nd grade for 4 years and am in my 5th year of Math Intervention. This is my second year at Norton, and I couldn't be more excited to be back with our amazing students! I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from WKU and a Master's degree in Literacy Specialist from University of the Cumberlands. I am working on my Gifted Education Endorsement this year through WKU.

I was born and raised in Louisville and grew up in JCPS schools. I have a sweet Labradoodle named Winston who loves to play fetch and lay in my lap. I love spending time with my family, especially my 4 year old nephew and 9 month old niece. I love to travel, eat good food, and find adventures with friends!
