Family Resource Center

I am so excited to be at Norton Elementary School as the new Family Resource Center Coordinator! I have been a FRC for a little over 4 years in Bullitt and Franklin County Schools. I received my undergraduate degree from WKU in Social Work. I then went on to receive two Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice Policy and Leadership from EKU and Masters of Education in Counseling from LWC. I'm happy to get to work 5 minutes from home and in the community that I live in.

I was born and raised in Owensboro, KY and have lived in Louisville for the past 5 years. My husband is a Kindergarten Teacher at KCD and is originally from England. We have a 1 year old son named Oliver who is full of energy. Our family, including our two labradoodles Lou Lou and Louie loves spending time together, traveling and cheering on the CARDS! I am honored to join the Norton family and am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our Norton students and families.

Norton's Family Resource Center is where you can turn with any question or concern you have about any issue related to your family.

The Family Resource Center (FRC) has many resources available in the school that can benefit your family, like:

Katie Wilkinson, our FRC Coordinator is trained and knowledgeable on how to help others. If there is a tough question, you need to ask someone, or you just need a safe space to be heard…this is a great place to start!

FRC’s from many schools work together in “CT’s” (Collaborative Teams) to spread the word about their programs, and educational opportunities throughout the community.

Ms. Wilkinson is dedicated to serving students, their families and staff at Norton & Wilder Elementary. See below for contact information. *Email is the best way to contact anytime/day

FRC’s assist students and families with their needs. ALL families. ALL needs. We advocate for ALL students.

Ms. Wilkinson can assist with school-related, as well as non-school related issues, and help students and their families get through tough situations.

The FRC is available to assist families regardless of circumstances. Get to know your FRC Coordinator personally.
