Multilingual Learners

Welcome Tigers! I am excited to begin the inclusive work of planning and implementing additional systems of support for multilingual learners and their families at Fern Creek High School. I work with all ML students in all of the academies. Your Academy Counselor is your first level of support, then I work alongside them as additional support for best practices for Multilingual Learners (MLs). 

Please read below the key areas of support that I will be providing as the new Counselor for Multilingual Learners (MLs). 

• Welcome and support ML students & families with advocacy & inclusion

• Coordinating and providing social-emotional learning (SEL) and other mental health supports

• Monitor effective creation & implementation of Program Services Plan (PSPs) for MLs

• Support MLs with graduation readiness (schedules, credits, & transcripts)

• Support MLs with exploring post-secondary options (life after high school)

• Plan and implement programs and events that are beneficial to connecting ML families to the school for a sense of belonging
