Pathway Progression
1) JROTC I- LEADERSHIP EDUCATION I (LE-I) This first year of the program provides cadets with an introduction to both leadership and citizenship. The first year also gives the new cadets exposure to personal growth and responsibility and establishes a foundation of military structure and tradition.
2) JROTC II- LEADERSHIP EDUCATION II (LE-II) The second year continues the leadership and citizenship classes of LE-I. During LE-II the students receive instruction in General Military Subjects with more structure and tradition than in LE-I, as well as the introduction of civilian marksmanship training and land navigation training with the map and compass. This year also provides additional learning experiences in personal growth and responsibility, as well as citizenship.
3) JROTC III- LEADERSHIP TRAINING III (LE-III) In LE-III, cadets will begin to use their leadership training as they assume positions of increased authority and responsibility within the program. In this year also, detailed instruction on personal finances is presented, as well as other preparation for life beyond high school.
4) JROTC IV- LEADERSHIP TRAINING IV (LE-IV) This is a year when cadets really bring together all their previous learning experiences in the MCJROTC program. Senior cadets will conduct formations and inspections, as well as supervise certain training events with younger cadets. LE-4 cadets continued to be challenged academically with requirements for research projects and independent studies and progress reports.
Early Childhood Education focuses on the developmental needs of children from birth to age eight, providing foundational skills in cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. It encompasses a range of educational practices and curricula designed to foster early learning, creativity, and social interaction. Early Childhood Education professionals play a crucial role in shaping the learning experiences of young children, preparing them for future academic success and lifelong learning. The field includes various specializations, such as child development, early literacy, and inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and family involvement.

Pathway Progression
1) FACS Essentials- an introductory course for Early Childhood Education and Family and Consumer Science majors. It is equivalent to 1 credit. It is an introductory course to meal preparation and nutrition; home environment; child development; consumer education; family living; family health; careers; enabling skills and processes.
2) Early Lifespan Development- Child/Human Growth and Development addresses the practical problems related to understanding the types and stages of human growth and development, recognizing effects of heredity and environment on human growth and development, learning about of exceptional children, promoting optimum growth and development in the infancy, toddler, preschool, middle childhood, adolescent, and adulthood stages. Careers in child/human development are explored.
3) Child Development Services I- Child Development Services I provides training for entry level positions in day care centers, nurseries, kindergartens, and private homes. Students study careers in child development, child development and guidance, children's health and well-being in-group care, value of play, teaching strategies and management, and curriculum development. The subject content is reinforced with work experience in a variety of childcare establishments.
4) Child Development Services II- Preparation for developing and managing effective childcare programs and facilities. Includes instruction in the management of financial operations; selecting and developing facilities; selecting staff and staffing patterns; providing for staff development opportunities; developing a total program for children and working with parents, community organizations and others concerned with children. Students gain in-depth work experiences in child care establishments.
The Culinary pathway goes beyond simply cooking a meal. Diet, sanitation, laws, baking, catering, and considering careers in the food industry are all covered throughout your journey.

Pathway Progression
1) Foods & Nutrition- This course is designed to assist students in making critical decisions about food, which contributes to health and well-being. Laboratory instruction is included as an application process. Practical problems addressed relate to attitudes toward food, nutrition facts, special health concerns and diets, management of food resources, preparation skills, food safety, sanitation and careers in nutrition and food service.
2) Culinary Arts I- This advanced course allows students to increase competencies in a variety of food preparation techniques. Emphasis will be placed on food presentation, garnishing, menu planning and the skills necessary to prepare for a career in the culinary arts.
3) Culinary Arts II- In this course students resume progress in pursuing competencies in food production and services. Orientation to the food service industry and development of food preparation skills are reinforced. Food service management functions are introduced. More in-depth information is provided and higher levels of skills are taught. Time is provided for work based learning opportunities. Food preparation; bakery operation; dinner catering; model restaurant; laws and regulations; unions; safety, sanitation; receive, store and issue food are addressed.
This pathway prepares you for the life skills you will need to run a household. Nutrition, interpersonal relationship skills, family planning, emotional wellness, childcare, eldercare, and budgeting are a few of the many topics discussed along your journey.

Pathway Progression
1) FACS Essentials- an introductory course for Family and Consumer Science and Early Childhood Education majors. It is an introductory course to meal preparation and nutrition; home environment; child development; consumer education; family living; family health; careers; enabling skills and processes.
2) Relationships- Students taking this course are participating in group study to learn healthy relationship skills such as Love Notes program via the University of Louisville. Relationships assists students to develop self-understanding, understand others better, improve interpersonal skills both within and outside the family, be more considerate of others person's needs and property, and maintain mental and emotional wellness. Family Life including dating, pre-marital concerns, married relationships, parenthood, child abuse, divorce.
3) Parenting- This course is designed to aid students in developing parenting and care giving skills that can be applied in a variety of situations. Major topics include becoming an informed parent, understanding prenatal development, caring for the newborn, being an effective parent/caregiver, caring for the sick and elderly and exploring career opportunities in care giving.
4) Money Skills for Math- This course is designed to provide students with math concepts needed in developing sound money management skills which will help to improve the quality of life for individuals and their families. Components of math, decision making and problem solving skills, goal setting and technology will be integral components of the course.
