Extracurricular Opportunities

Symphony Orchestra

The EHS Band Program combines with the exemplary EHS Orchestra Program to form the Symphony Orchestra. This is an extracurricular ensemble that meets outside of the school day, Mondays from 2:30-4:30 during the 21/22 School Year. The Symphony Orchestra is made up of Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass Sections as well as Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone and Tuba. Eastern HS is proud to be one of few schools in the state that offer this amazing opportunity to students at no cost. All students in the band program/orchestra program are welcome to join.

The Eastern Symphony Orchestra was selected to perform at the 2017 KMEA In-Service Professional Development Conference under the direction of Orchestra Director, Mr. Fred Speck.

Chamber Music

Chamber Music At Eastern High School is a growing way for students to perform and grow on their instruments throughout the  year.  Students at Eastern High School have been successful at the KMEA District 12 Solo and Ensemble Event, as well as State Solo and Ensemble.

Students in Eastern Chamber groups will play at various events around the Middletown Area.  From private and corporate functions, to ribbon cutting ceremonies, the Eastern Chamber groups give students the opportunity to showcase their hard-work in a meaningful performance experience.

Pep Band

The Pep Band is a vital part of the school culture at Eastern High School. All members of the EHS Band Program are involved in the pep band. The pep band regularly plays at home basketball games (5 boys, 5 girls) and away tournament games. The pep band is an energetic group that performs popular music and rallies the crowd, described as a ".. difference maker in the atmosphere" by many.
