Concert Bands

The Eastern High School Band Program has continually set high standards in concert band performance. Each year the Concert Bands receive distinguished ratings at KMEA festivals and display technique, musicianship, and utmost class in all of their performances. The rich history of the Concert Bands includes representation at regional events.

EHS is privileged to feature two very fine bands at the concert level: Symphonic Band (audition only) and Concert Band. Each ensemble is taught in a full-year course within the curriculum of Eastern High School. EHS Concert Bands present at least four annual concerts in a variety of venues. 

During the fall semester, all band students are expected to participate in the marching band (unless they are in another fall sport/activity). This is a part of the band experience and gives students additional educational opportunities not possible during the school day. In the spring, students are able to audition into the Symphonic Band for the following school year. EHS consistently has a high representation of students in All County Band, Kentucky All-State Band and Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts. Many EHS musicians choose to perform in solo and ensemble festival, where they have a great opportunity to expand their musical horizons.
