• Hey Seniors - Niche Scholarship Drawing for EHS students exclusively. I got to participate in the NACAC annual conference in Minneapolis in October.  Because I stopped by the Niche booth to check out what is new there, they offered YOU a $2000 scholarship opportunity!  The winner is selected by random drawing by 12/15.  Deadline to apply is 11/30.  Good luck!

• Have you considered using a Glimpse video to accompany your college applications?  You can record and submit a Glimpse video by creating an account on the InitialView Glimpse Portal and filming a 60- to 90-second unedited video to send to participating colleges.  This video can give admissions officers an authentic, human look at your personality, tone, and communication style beyond your written essays.  It must be a single take with no editing or production tools permitted.  Aim to submit your video within one week of submitting your main college application (or align it with early/regular decision deadlines like November 15 or January 15, depending on the school).

Colorado School of Mines Guaranteed Admission Pathway.  In 2025, Jeffco Public Schools and the Colorado School of Mines partnered to pilot a Guaranteed Admissions Pathway for qualifying Jeffco students seeking admission to CSM.  Because of our success, that program has now expanded statewide!  This program supports rigorous learning and opens doors for students.  Learn about the requirements here.  CSM Scholarships are also applicable to students in this program!

  • FLEX Global Abroad.  The 2027-28 FLEX Global Abroad application is now available. Future Leaders Exchange Global Abroad (FLEX Global Abroad) is a U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs cultural exchange program that provides young Americans a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth and fosters the next generation of leaders. Talented high school students from across the U.S. are chosen through a merit-based process to live with a host family and attend high school for one academic year in select countries. As citizen diplomats, students showcase American excellence; learn about innovation, business, and technology in their host communities; develop their entrepreneurial, language, and leadership skills; and strengthen ties between U.S. and their host countries.  For the 2027-2028 academic year, selected participants receive scholarships to live with host families and attend a local high school for one academic year. FLEX Global Abroad programs may take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Thailand. Community Service Letter

• Start now! EHS is one of the last Colorado high schools that awards a varsity letter in Community Service.  You count hours toward a letter with service work you performed beginning on the first day of summer 2026 through the 2026-2027 school year.  Total hours needed are 115.  The application is due 4/15/27.
