The Wooden Hawk Foundation is hosting their first ever music fest (Mountain Music Fest) on August 3rd! The event will need major student involvement and is looking to have a table from every club and team at the school where they can offer mini games to raise money for their organization. Before signing up the clubs/teams, the Wooden Hawk Foundation is looking for talented digital artists to create the first ever poster for this event. The foundation is offering $500, signature rights, and a letter of recommendation from them to the student with the best poster. The foundation would like the students to look at their website (found at www.mountainmusicfest.org) to get a feel of what the music fest will be, to create a well thought out poster. If anyone has any questions or concerns please let Bre Hamarat know - work email is bre.hamarat@gmail.com. Deadline 4/30/24. Flyer. https://woodenhawkfoundation.org/mountain-music-fest/

WOULD YOU LIKE TO STUDY ABROAD? Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Rotary Youth Exchange provides young people with the opportunity to experience a cultural exchange and to develop as leaders who promote peace and justice around the world. The Rotary Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by the Rotary Club of Evergreen. Our yearlong programs send students overseas and we also host students here in Evergreen. Our summer programs include Family to Family exchanges for two like-minded students to stay in each other’s homes for a few weeks in each location. Both programs are life changing for the students and the families who host them. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT? If you would be interested in hosting a student for three months over the next school year in your home, please volunteer to become a Host Family. Host Families do not need to be members of Rotary, they do not need to have children, and they can even be a single person who is interested in learning about another person’s culture. Lifelong friendships are almost always developed! If you are interested, check out our website at www. RMRYE.org or contact Scott@denvermachine.com for more information. Flyer.
Scholarship Information is due 4/22/24! Seniors, please email the Registrars (Ms. Principe or Ms. Naumer) or Ms. Janet in the Futures Center to tell us about all the scholarships you've received. We need to know:
The scholarship provider (college, organization, etc.)
The scholarship name
The full amount of the scholarship (if it's a 4 year scholarship, we want the grand total!)
If you are choosing to decline or accept the scholarship
This is what one would look like: "University of Colorado Boulder Horace Hale Esteemed Scholarship for $16,000 over 4 years - ACCEPTED"
You can also make copies of the scholarship notifications and send those to us as well
Senior Day is May 1st. Stop in to the Futures Center for some celebratory cake and finish up your check out steps! Your Jeffco Senior Exit Survey has been put on your Naviance account. YOU HAVE TO ANSWER THIS SURVEY BEFORE MAY 10 in order to walk at Graduation. If you know your plans for after high school now, whether that is college, a GAP year, Military, Trade School, work, etc, please complete this at any time before 5/10. If you still are unsure of which college you are attending, you can wait until May to complete this survey or let us know which multiple colleges you are considering. We use these results to determine where we send your final transcripts once you graduate. Look in Naviance under About Me, then Surveys From Your School...you only need to complete the Senior Exit Survey. Additionally, please re-do your Alumni Questionnaire, as we have fixed the glitch in it about your favorite teacher! These surveys are very quick and easy to complete.
