Reflecting campus priorities to support equitable access to engaged learning for all IU Indianapolis students, the Institute for Engaged Learning (IEL) will focus the 2025-2026 academic year funding to support ePortfolio integration at the course level. The goal is to increase, improve, and sustain ePortfolios as part of the curricular structure assignments and activities in a course or series of courses. Given this priority, we seek new and veteran faculty dedicated to implementing ePortfolios in new ways or deepening/transforming their ePortfolio-engaged initiatives in credit-bearing experiences. For applications that meet these criteria, the IEL will offer support through additional funding streams, summer/faculty development session, communities of practice [CoP], and online resources.

My ePortfolio Institute Proposal Overview
We are implementing ePortfolio projects in First Year Seminar for music technology and therapy majors to help them develop a public repository for their academic work to expand their creative practice. Alongside an accessible display of their work, these ePortfolios support student reflection on their creative process, their personal learning and lived experiences, and communicates the knowledge they have created to an authentic audience beyond the instructor. Students will receive feedback on ePortfolio work from peers, faculty, staff, and/or external audiences. I hope the students will use the ePortfolio for themselves as a space to share creative works without having the pressure and costs of a commercial streaming practice, while also acclimating to releasing their creative works to an audience so they are more prepared for future commercial releases.
I believe this practice will impact Career + Self-Development by helping the students have a tool for sharing their academic and creative content, engaging their Critical Thinking skills in the projects themselves, and expand their Professionalism in using the ePortfolio as a tool to share their academic and creative practices for future work/collaboration.
