Community of Practice gatherings are open to ePortfolio practitioners at IU and other universities who network with our IU Indianapolis ePortfolio programs.
The ePortfolio Studio will host three COPs in the Fall and Spring of the 20204-2025 academic year. These COPs provide targeted support for the 26 faculty participating in the ePortfolio Integration grant, but everyone is welcome.

As we build the COP schedule, the materials below duplicate entries on the "ePortfolio Basics" Google Site page. Explore the various ePortfolio Basics resources shared during the Summer ePortfolio Grant Workshop, as well as some extra tools to support you and your students as you build your ePortfolios.
On Day 1 of the Summer Grant Workshop, we discussed ePortfolio on the 5's for faculty when building and implementing ePortfolios into your courses.
Review these slides to help you when thinking of the 5 points in your syllabus to add ePortfolio content, as well as a brief set of guidelines when creating your own ePortfolio and what to look for when assessing student ePortfolios.
The following are examples of instructional sites and models that the ePortfolio Team has created for various instructors across campus to aid in their implementation of ePortfolios in their courses and programs.
These sites serve as an instructional resource for students curated specifically for each instructor's course/program requirements. The students use this to help get started on their ePortfolios and direct them to other recommended resources to use as they build.
Four Year Instructional ePortfolio for Honors Students
Sophie Carrison worked wth Dr. Sheeler to build an instructional ePortfolio to guide Honors students across four years of eP work.
W231 Students working with Hoosier Herpatological Scoiety created this project-oriented ePortfolio.
To see other W231 team projects, visit the IUI Engaged Learning and ePortfolio Showcase. Search: W231.
The ePortfolio Team has made multiple Google Site templates for various courses and programs, as well as some general templates that can be used by students if their specific course or program does not have a designated template in the gallery.
Templates for specific courses and programs are designed to outline the structure of required assignments for a ready-to-use, buildable ePortfolio to make the process of getting started more achievable.
The IU Indianapolis Center for Teaching and Learning [CTL] offers a Curricular Enhancement Grant for faculty who want additional funding and time to pursue curricular innovations. This grant can support continued progress on faculty-ePortfolio initiatives.
Samantha Scribner used the CEG to create an instructional ePortfolio to support each stakeholder in the Urban Educational Leadership practicum experience.

The following slide deck is a general version of the ePortfolio kickoff slides that the ePortfolio Team uses when introducing ePortfolios for the first time to your students. The slides are made available to you and your students before and after the kickoff to use as a reference and resource as they build their ePortfolios.
To request a kickoff, please fill out a Qualtrics kickoff request form and the ePortfolio Studio will contact you to confirm a date and time that works best.
The ePortfolio Platform Comparison chart outlines the three major platforms used for ePortfolios on IUI's campus: Wix, Google Sites, and CourseNetworking (CN).
The chart compares each platform across multiple attributes to help faculty, staff, and students decide which platform best fits their ePortfolio needs.
This support site walks students through the basics of ePortfolio design, including how to get started, how to include artifacts, and an overview of the 3x5 design rule included in the ePortfolios on the 5's principles.
The Design Basics support site is linked on all instructional sites created by the ePortfolio Team to provide an extra resource for students as they build their ePortfolios.
The ePortfolios on the 5's principles for students focuses mainly on creating interest and engagement within their ePortfolio through various building and design strategies.
This handout provides a quick reference for students to use as they create their ePortfolios. These helpful tips can be used for any and all types of ePortfolios created by students, staff, and faculty alike.
