Online Classes
NPHS DOES NOT CURRENTLY OFFER FULLY ONLINE COURSES
A student can take up to 3 online courses while remaining an NPHS student. These courses are provided by schools other than New Prague Area Schools. Students are welcome to exercise this option; here is what you need to know in advance:
It is the student and family's responsibility to enroll in an accredited online school. Information regarding online enrollment, including accredited schools, is on the Minnesota Department of Education website.
NPHS does not have any involvement in course selection or academic progress in online courses. Students and families must work directly with their chosen online school to monitor academic progress. (Counselors will verify that online class selections meet graduation requirements.)
NPHS staff members are not able to provide academic support for online classes. Students must work directly with their online provider for support.
If an NPHS student does not complete the online course by the end of our semester, it is recorded as an F on the student's transcript.
Students must commit to either be in the building, or out of the building, during their online course periods for the entire semester. If students opt to remain in the building, they will be assigned to a study hall where attendance will be taken.
Taking online courses directly impacts course offerings, staffing, and class sizes at NPHS. In short, the more online classes students take, the fewer offerings NPHS can provide.
If you choose to withdraw from an NPHS course to add an online course after the first week of the semester, the dropped NPHS course is recorded as an F on the transcript.
