Important Registration Dates for Current 8th Graders
Tuesday, March 7, 2023 - Initial Registration Presentation to All 8th Graders During STEP.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 - Follow up registration meeting - 8th grade registration completed in classes.
What to Expect This Year
The high school counselors will be coming to the middle school to meet with students in their part of the alphabet. Along with the counselors, Link Crew leaders will be there to help answer students' questions about life at the high school.
March 7, 2023 - Initial Meeting with Counselors during STEP Time
Counselors will review the following with students:
Graduation Requirements
Specific 9th-grade required courses
Tips for choosing courses
Options for earning college credit while in the high school
What to expect once students are in the high school
Students will receive their Registration worksheet.
March 14- Counselors return to the middle school during Tutorial Time
During this time, students will be entering their course selections into Infinite Campus
Students should bring the registration worksheet hey received on March 7, 2023.
The counselors will be there to answer any questions students might have about their course selections.
We encourage families to discuss selection with their students after the March 7th meeting so students are prepared to enter their courses into Infinite Campus on March 14th.
What to Expect Next Year
We are very excited to be able to dedicate our first day of school to the Freshman Class and Link Crew. Link Crew is a nationally recognized program designated to make the transition to high school a positive one.
Seniors and juniors will serve as leaders and mentors for all incoming 9th graders starting on the first day of school and for the rest of their 9th-grade year. Throughout the orientation, large and small group activities are designed to address students' needs and concerns. Students will go through an abbreviated daily schedule to find their classrooms, meet their teachers, and experience lunch. We'll have fun along the way. We look forward to having you here on orientation day
