Course Description: This class period allows students to meet in a quiet classroom environment in order to study and work on homework. Students are expected to be productive during this time. No credit is earned in Study Hall. If you want to register for first semester study hall, select course 3000. If you would like a second semester study hall, select course 4000. If you want more than one study hall in a semester just register for 13 courses instead of the full 14.

3500A: Senior Privilege (First Semester)

Course Description: Senior Privileges is a program for seniors who are on track to graduate and are in good academic and behavioral standing. In order to qualify students must:
• Have attained a minimum of 38 credits at the start of their senior year.
• Have attained a minimum of 42 credits by the end of their first semester senior year.
• Students are required to have 47 total credits to graduate. Seniors applying for senior privilege must be at least one semester credit ahead (48 credits).
• Students who fail a first semester class will not be eligible for senior privilege second semester.
• Demonstrate responsibility by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
• Maintain a positive attendance record (no more than 7 excused or unexcused absences per semester).
• Positive conduct

Seniors who qualify for this are free to leave campus during study hall and/or during lunch. There are some restrictions:
• They may not leave campus with underclassmen during either of these times.
• Senior Privileges may be revoked if disciplinary, behavioral,academic or attendance expectations are not met.
• Seniors who qualify for the Senior Privileges program must have parent/guardian permission. Parents will receive the permission form electronically in August.
• Seniors will be informed when they have been approved and can then begin to exercise their privileges.

Special Considerations for TCU Classes
Students interested in enrolling in classes at Tri-City United High School will have the opportunity to do so once the TCU master schedule is completed. Students enrolling in these classes must provide their own transportation and are strongly encouraged to sign up for a study hall to be in their schedule after this course due to travel time. Interested students should register for a full course load at NPHS plus their desired TCU courses and then meet with their counselor in March to determine whether they will be able to take TCU.

Course Description: Students interested in enrolling in agricultural science courses at Tri-City United High School will have the opportunity. Counselors will meet with students who have requested these courses to finalized enrollment.

Course Description: Students interested in enrolling in American Sign Language classes at Tri-City United High School will have the opportunity to do so once the TCU master schedule is completed (end of February). Students enrolling in these classes must provide their own transportation. Interested students should register for a full course load at NPHS plus 1689, then meet with their counselor in March to determine whether they will take American Sign Language at TCU.
