The events of Wednesday afternoon on the U.S. Capitol grounds were shocking, even traumatizing. Although we've been teaching for decades, we're somewhat at a loss how to address this insurrection.
We've spent this morning compiling articles written by media and political professionals that we believe to be worth your time and attention. These pdfs are on our Home page.
We must state that these events cannot and should not be taught with some misbegotten notion of "neutrality". What happened Wednesday afternoon was dreadful, full stop. There is no "both sides" here.
Our plan is to open our class Friday with an open dialogue. Your questions and perspectives are valued. You may speak, write in the chat, or e-mail us during class and we will read your question/perspective in anonymity.
