We will be inspired to create a narrative based on our new core text of 'Paddington'. We will be thinking about linking our Global theme of 'Human rights' to explore that everyone has a right to be safe and have a home.
This half term, we will be learning about addition and subtraction beginning to use the formal method of column method to work out our answers. The children will be adding and subtracting two digit numbers from eachother, understanding how to exchange.
We are continuing our learning about living things and their habitat. During the half term, we will be identifying, grouping and classifying all objects which are lliving, non-living and have never been alive. This will help us to identify the living and non-living things in a habitat and what these items need to survive to live in that habitat.
In geography we are going to be working towards answering the assessment question; Why does London attract so many tourists each year? The children will think about what London has to offer to tourists and what are the different features.
We will be learning about coding and how they can describe a series of instructions as a sequence.
In RE, we are going to be understanding what the different features of a church are. We will explore what different ceremonies take place in a church and who runs those ceremonies.
In PE, we will be exploring Net games. The children will begin to play games using both hands & tennis rackets to pass the ball to eahother.
For our first DT term, we are going to be looking at mechaisms and understanding how we can use different tools to create a moving vehicle.
This half term we are going to be working towards our Nativity performance.
In RHE, we are going to be looking at our health and wellbeing. We will use breathing exercises to relax, begin to understand personal strengths and set achievable goals as well as looking how to manage our emotions.
