Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that we have been back at school for three weeks already! The first month of term in September is one of our favourite times of the year! It has been wonderful seeing all of the children settle straight into their new classes and there has been a buzz around school as the children see their friends and begin their Autumn one learning journeys. We would also like to say a huge welcome to our new reception children, we know you’ll have many happy years ahead!
The reception children have settled well into our school and have thoroughly enjoyed their full days including staying for lunch. Please be reminded that all children are entitled to a free, cooked meal. We would encourage parents to take up this offer! For further details about the nutritious school menu for this half term, please do contact the school office.
As a school community we pending the next few weeks exploring our school values and thining about what our values mean to us and how we model our values in all aspects of our lives. The children will also be re-introduced to our zones of regulation and character skills over the Autumn term which alongside our values, underpin our Global Curriculum.

Our Whole School attendance this week is:
91.6%
Dear Parents and carers
There has been growing national concern regarding declining school attendance rates across the UK. In response, the Department for Education has introduced new statutory guidance, effective
from August 2024, aimed at reducing term-time holidays and unauthorised absences, and supporting families whose children are struggling to attend.
As the DfE notes in Improving attendance is everyone’s business’, and it is important that we, as your child’s school, work together in partnership with you, your family, your child, and the wider community.
The new Working Together to Improve School Attendance & Guidance emphasises a ‘Support First’ ethos, and recognises that ‘the barriers to accessing education are wide and complex, both within
and beyond the school gates, and are often specific to individual pupils and families. It essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances.’
If you are concerned about your child’s attendance, then please contact office@inspireelaine.co.uk as soon as possible so that barriers to attendance can be understood, and appropriate support can
be put in place to support you, your family, and your child to prevent further absences.
School Improvement - Our Priorities
Our priorities this year are as follows:
Assessment to drive progress and outcomes
Ensure assessment is rigorous and robust so that all children make accelerated progress, and all outcomes exceed national expectations.
Feedback at all levels
Promote and embed a culture of ‘everyone a learner,’ where feedback is shared at all levels to create a culture for coaching, personal growth and excellence.
Inclusive practice to ensure success for all
Adaptive teaching is personalised to meet the needs of all learners, so all pupils have opportunities to experience success across the curriculum.
Oracy
Establish children’s oracy to support their social development through performance, cultural capital and vocabulary development.
Writing
Enhance the quality of writing outcomes by developing the teaching and learning of grammar, punctuation and spelling. Create a culture of teaching and developing a rich and varied vocabulary for all pupils across the school.
School Uniform
It is great to see the children looking smart in their school uniforms. Just a reminder that all shoes should be black, earrings need to be studs only and hair bands should be small and in school colours.
Please see the link to the uniform policy:

Sports clubs have now started and our first tournaments, tri golf and hockey are coming up this half term. Please speak to Miss Macklin, our PE coordinator, if you have any questions about PE or sports clubs.
All children can come to school in PE kit on their PE day. This must be Elaine PE kit.
Healthy School
As a school, we promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Snacks should be fruit only. Water should be sent in children's bottles and children may have squash/juice at lunchtime only. Children will not be allowed to drink squash during lessons.
As we have children with allergies at Elaine, we are a nut free school so please consider this when packing your child a packed lunch.
