Google Meet is a virtual classroom, meeting, conference and chat space. As a member of the Immaculata community, all Mighty Macs have access to this great tool, and there is no need to install an application. Google Meet is totally browser-based.
Faculty and students are strongly encouraged to review the materials provided below in advance of the first virtual class meeting.
Important Note About Closed Captioning: Only if you access Google Meet through the Google Chrome browser will you be able to use the tool's closed captioning function. Since closed-captioning availability is required for virtual classes to be ADA compliant, you must use Google Chrome for Google Meet meetings in order to use the closed caption button.
In the box is a Custom Meting Link, unique to only the students and instructor enrolled in this course. When selected, you will be connected directly to your class meeting.
Please remember to make sure you are signed onto your Immaculata University Google account and you are are using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with both a camera and microphone.
Participants may then automatically enter their Google Meet classroom. Select "Join now" to join your instructor and fellow classmates
Request attendees to set their microphone to mute upon entry
Faculty should be the first participant in each meeting. Students, please do not log in more than 5 minutes before the scheduled start of your class.
