Definition of educational work experience : 

Educational work experience is a structured, fundamentally educational work placement program designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing students with essential practical skills and insight into a specific field or industry that they are interested in. These programs are designed to provide hands-on, experiential learning through educational placements.

Objectives 

• Experiential learning: Students are able to build competencies through experiential learning opportunities in their field of interest

• Career Exploration: Students are given the opportunity to explore potential careers and dive into jobs that interest them to get a real taste of what their future career might be like. This experience helps them to make informed decisions about whether a career they are interested in is one they truly wish to pursue, which in turn will hopefully allow the student to make even more informed decisions about their higher education aspirations and selection of majors in their undergraduate studies at the university. 

• Skill Enhancement: Work experience helps students enhance their skills, specifically focusing on building essential employment-related skills and competencies such as self-management, communication, critical thinking, and initiative. The experience also allows students to develop the skills and attitudes required for the world of work
