Human-centric skills offer a true competitive edge because they rely on judgment, context, and lived experience that machines cannot replicate. Uniquely human tasks like empathy, creativity, and leadership have only a 13% potential for AI transformation. Developing these capabilities ensures students possess the skills least likely to be automated in an AI-augmented landscape
By fostering these uniquely human abilities—which are the least likely to be automated—schools provide the vital "bridge" that allows students to thrive alongside emerging technologies rather than be displaced by them.
The Future of Jobs Report 2025 highlights a significant shift in the global labor market, where approximately 39% of workers' core skills are expected to change by 2030. To be future-ready, students must focus on a blend of cognitive, technological, and uniquely human socio-emotional capabilities. Below is part of a statistics taken from the Future of Jobs Report 2025, which list the top 12 highest rated core skills by employers. It also shows the % of employers who consider the stated skills to be core skills for their workforce.
Ultimately, the goal of this framework and toolkit is to guide teachers who support students on their journey to develop a portfolio of competencies that are human-centric and consider core skills by employers. The framework has 4 domains: Adaptability, Interpersonal, Ingenuity, and Development. Each domain has competency clusters as identified in the diagram below.
This is the main platform that students will use to track their development of the competencies in this framework. They do that by adding actions, tagging the competency that they have developed and uploading any evidence. CP students are using the same platform to track their CP-Core component requirements in the same way. In fact an action that students add will very likely fulfill a CP-core component requirements and have developed specific competencies. Teachers use this platform to check on the students progress and approve actions that students added to the platform.
