Household Goods and Misc Shopping

Below are a variety of speciality shops for finding what you need in Abidjan.  They are loosely categorized to help you search through the options. Please note that many businesses in Abidjan to not maintain websites, links to businesses might be facebook pages or Trip Advisor acccounts, etc.

Hardware 

Offering tools, paint, wall paper, shelving, hooks, planters, etc. The quality is good, but prices are high as it's all imported.

A large hardware wearhouse with tools, materials as well as some home and garden goods like grills, patio furniture and more.

Household Goods

Household goods, some groceries, party supplies, sports equipment, some clothing.


Good for things like dishes, garbage cans, floor mats, etc. Not always the best quality, but the prices are low. There are 2 China Malls: one in ZONE 4 and one on the way to Grand Bassam.

A popular place to purchase quality home furniture and decor, the prices can be high, but watch for storewide sales. (multiple locations)

A large market area near the port, you can find good prices and negotiate a deal for a variety of things from rugs to curtain rods, outdoor chairs to fabrics and more.

Spiral

Referred to as a sleek and upscale version of Ikea, Spiral is a nice option for investing in something that you love.

A homegoods store with higher end options, good quality linens and houeshold goods. Prices can be high, but are often reasonable. There is a small location above the Mr. Bricolage in Riviera 3, as well as two other larger locations with more options. 

Clothing/Sports Equipment

In Zone 4, between Orca and Playce. Outlet-style shopping for brand-name clothes.


A French Chain of reasonably priced sports clothes, shoes and equipment. (Multiple Locations)


Some belts and clothing, but also very nice handbags, hats and other accessories. Contact them directly for shopping options as they often do fairs and pop-ups. 

Affordable and fun dresses, jumpers and more perfect for the hot Abidjan weather.  The owner speaks English and offers visits to her showroom, and also frequents fairs and offers pop-ups around the city. 

Fabric

Showcasing Uniwax and Vlisco wax fabrics, these high end fabric boutiques offer beautiful textiles, they have shops in Cap Nord, Cap Sud and in Plateau 2.



Known for having a wide array of fabrics, this is a popular place to find just about anything you could need to make from curtains to dresses to cushions! Found in the Treichville vicinity, walk around the area for additional fabric shops also worth considering! 

School and Office Supplies, Books, etc.

A French chain of bookstores that also have gifts and electronics.

Also in...

School supplies are not always the quality you may like but are also in places like China Mall, Chic Shop, and even many supermarkets! 

Markets, Gifts, Misc (Market = Marché )

Cocody Market

(Marche de cocody Saint Jean), this market offers great prices on cashews, dried fruit and spices and some fresh fruit and veg on it's main level, with fabric and crafts on upper levels.

A craft market with beautiful baskets, clothing, wood carvings and more. Haggle aggressively and enjoy the experience!

The largest market in Abidjan (and West Africa) this is an experience to visit, and you might find something along the way! 


A lovely little shop where local fabrics, colors and styles inspire upscale handbags, household items and furnishings. 

A fun shop full of funky toys and gifts for kids and the young at heart. 

A lovely boutique with collections from local and international artists such as Bodhi Nomadic Lifestyle and Fabiwa Decoration.
