Groceries

Most of the Large Grocery stores are found in the big shopping malls. While you can find more options and sometimes better prices elsewhere, many stick with the large chains for their more international standards, cleanliness and consistency.  Listed below are some favorite supermarkets, as well as several smaller shops and markets to get groceries.

Keep in mind that many use grocery delivery options. The ordering and delivery isn't as sophisticated as in many places, but they offer a break from the traffic if you need a few things without a trip out. Glovo and Yango Deli are both popular options (download their apps for more).

There are multiple Carrefours around Abidjan, including one just down the street from ICSA (a very small version) and in the Playce Shopping Center. Many find the prices here to be better than other supermarkets, though options are more limited. (Credit Cards Accepted)

Small Supermarkets, Discount Stores

& Speciality Shops:

Bulk purchasing means better prices.  The price tags on the shelf will tell you the minimum number of items you must purchase at once (usually a minimum of 2).  Toilet paper, cleaning supplies, some groceries, juice, alcohol and beer, rice, flour, canned goods etc.  Go for the deals, but be prepared to come home with lots! (Credit Card Accepted)

BONUS: Pro Cash Parking lot. Outside Pro Cash, in their parking space, to the left, there is a small grocery store. Vegetables are usually very fresh, and they have good prices.

Good for bulk buying especially beer and wine. They only accept cash.

A great grocery option with a lot of foods hard to find in other places. Nut milks, pita bread, coffee, meat, cheeses as well as a huge drinks section with lemonades and soda's.  Natural and local products can also be found here. (Credit Card Accepted)

Across from ProCash is the Barry Callebaut chocolate factory. The small door right across from ProCash leads to a little security kiosk and the entrance to a small shop where chocolate chips of all flavors are available at a major discount from the grocery stores.  The chocolate is high quality and much loved. (Cash Only)
