Material:
OZOBOT
Cards with Path an example is provided
In this activity students will simulate the rotation of two wheels with different radius; the two wheels have to cover the same distance in the same time. The activity can be performed either using Ozobot in random mode or imposing a speed (the same for the two Ozobot).
At a basic level, students will experience the inverse proportionality between radius and number of revolutions, simply counting this last one. At a more advanced level, a code can be written for changing LED colour at every revolution, so the different number of revolutions will be checked simply by looking at the colour.
In a further extension, students will calculate the angular velocity, and the differences between linear and angular velocity could be discussed.
