Module 1
For our RE lessons, we have begun to look at what the different religions believe when we die.
We have looked at Christian beliefs and discussed similarities and differences between Islamic, Hindu and Sikh faiths.
We linked this to a book called Heaven by Nicholas Alan and formulated some questions which Lily might ask Dil (her dog) who has gone to heaven.
N.C Describe and make connections between different features of the religious and non-religious worldviews they study, discovering more about celebrations, worship, pilgrimages and the rituals which mark important points in life in order to reflect thoughtfully on their ideas;
Module 2
Our unit this Module is : Is it better to express your religion in arts and architecture or in charity and generosity?
We have started to look at what makes a place special and why Churches and Mosques are special to religious people.
NC Discuss and present thoughtfully their own and others’ views on challenging questions about belonging, meaning, purpose and truth, applying ideas of their own thoughtfully in different forms including (e.g.) reasoning, music, art and poetry.
We have also looked at and discussed religious symnbolism in Christian art and the function of churches in Christianity.

Module 3
Racism and Religion
In R.E. this module we have been learning about racism and how different religions and religious texts deal with the issue of racism. We have also been looking at historic incidents of racism and how we, as a society, can learn from these incidents.
This learning has blended really well with our learning about the causes of World War 2.
