Resource Organization

Before you start your research, it is important to decide how you are going to organize the information you find.

You will be reviewing this information throughout the process, so you want a system that makes it easy to track your sources.

As an HC student, you have an account with Noodle Tools.

Just sign in with your student email Google account to access this resource.

If you use another system to organize your research notes but you need help creating a quick citation, Zoterobib is a helpful tool.

The citations in your bibliography or works cited page show that you found credible, authoritative sources for your research.

You will also want to organize your time so that you can turn in a revised, thoughtful paper. A good research plan is to spend:

50% of your time researching

10 % of your time organizing your findings

40% of your time writing and formatting

Make sure to complete your draft several days before the due date, so that you can put it aside and come back to make any last minute edits before it is due. Trying to write a final draft the night before the paper is due will never result in your best, thoughtful work.
