Understand the Process

Academic research is a process to find, evaluate and use information to deepen your understanding and build new knowledge.

In academic research, you are not simply a consumer of information.

Instead, you use the information you discover in creative ways.

You might use your deeper understanding to extend an academic conversation or to defend a position in an academic argument.

Here are some important concepts to remember at the beginning of your research:
