The Reader function is at the heart of every C-Pen reading support. The combination of visual feedback of the digital highlighter and audio feedback from the text-to-speech reader has been shown to result in greater levels of retention and reading growth.
Reading pens can be used to assist in language development, whether it's your native language or you're learning a new one. Every C-Pen device has a a variable number of languages it supports, whether online or offline. (A small but mighty set of languages are supported)
Reader 2's U-link feature is the best way to store away your saved word lists, dictionary definitions, and audio recordings. Connecting to your device with the Reader 2 gives you the chance to view, organise, share, and delete your files
You can access scanned text and voice recordings in the Reader 2's Library function. When reviewing the text in the Library, you have all the same functionalities and features that you would have as if you had just scanned the text.
Reader 2 creates word lists when you enlarge, repeat, or define words that you scan. This practice word list can be used to help with pronunciation, spelling, and comprehension. You can use all the same additional functions in the practice mode that you would be able to use when scanning, such as word enlargement or instant definitions.
A key feature of the Reader 2, the recorder is a fantastic tool to help you organise thoughts for independent study. This video will help you get accustomed to the details of the voice recorder and how you can make the most of this useful feature.
Breaking up your reading flow with words that you aren't familiar with can really hinder your reading development. Swapping over to a physical dictionary to then find the the definition can turn reading into a challenge. Reader 2 and Secure Reader 2 both hold built-in dictionaries that simplify the task of defining new words by making it quick and convenient.
Take advantage of Reader 2's OCR built-in tech as document scanner. Scan printed text directly into your computer, Word, or Google Docs. Anywhere you can type text, you can use the Reader 2 as an extended keyboard, even making it possible to directly quote excepts from a book you're reading in a document or when searching using a browser.
3 advanced reader settings that may give you extra support if you struggle with comprehension: reading speed, word pause, and punctuation pause.
