While CAS Portfolio on Managebac is one of the main ways to celebrate and share the learning and successes in CAS Programme, students are encouraged to share their work in the community through HIS Newsletter, The Tiger Studio News, HIS Radio, DP Assemblies and elsewhere as a part of demonstration of their learning.
Students have opportunities to discuss progress and successes with CAS Advisors and CAS Coordinator numerous times throughout the 2 year. Communication is a key to success in CAS Programme, and students are encouraged to show their initiation in all interactions they might have with anyone in the process. The clear and honest communication will bring new ideas to link CAS experience ideas to TOK, EE, ATL skills and other subject area study.
There are three formal documented interviews students must have with their CAS coordinator/adviser. The first interview is at the beginning of the CAS programme, the second at the end of the first year, and the third interview is at the end of the CAS programme.
The Initial Interview provides students an opportunity to share their passion and values, and overall structure and planning of their CAS Programme at the start of G11 with CAS Coordinator. This interview also creates a space to build a collaborative relationship between students and the Advisors/Coordinator, and for students to ask any questions about CAS.
The interim Interview is to reflect the progress of the student in CAS through a discussion about their commitment in a range of CAS experiences and achievement of the learning outcomes using the portfolio at the end of G11 with CAS Coordinator. The discussion also includes the progress/completion of CAS Project(s). This interview also supports students to adjust/reset their goals and plans to further work on the CAS experiences.
Exit Interview gives students an opportunity to reflect deeply and share their success in the whole CAS Programme at the end of G12 with CAS Coordinator using the CAS portfolio. Students are encouraged to evaluate their personal growth, which provides some further guidance in their future lives beyond HIS.
