When I first started this internship four weeks ago, I wouldn't have known how much I would enjoy being a teachers aid for Mr. Oliver's class and getting to help his students on their last few weeks of elementary. These past few weeks were a blast and I'm very proud of everyone in Oliver's class for doing their best to finish off the year on a strong note, if I had the chance I'd tell my past self to be calm and patient with the kids and just try your best at being a teachers aid. Even though my internship has concluded I still want to keep working on improving my growth skills before and throughout college to make sure that I am still efficiently using them years later. I want to give a huge thanks to Oliver and all of the other teachers at explorer for being very kind and supportive towards me and to all of the students for being respectful and productive during my time in their class. Overall I am very thankful for having the opportunity to intern in this field of education and getting to significantly grow in my growth goal, this internship has helped me a lot to become more prepared for college in the coming months and I hope that everyone in this class has a great time next year!
Now that I'm finished with my second academic internship at HTeX, I can confidently say that I've significantly grown in using my communicative skills to best help and support these students. Almost everyday I would personally assist in a small group of kids, or sometimes with just one, to help aid them with any work they're confused or struggling on by providing supportive feedback to help the students learn and improve. As I continued to keep assisting the students each day they've grown to start viewing me as another teacher by referring to me as Mr. Harley and have been coming to me to ask for support, which shows how I've built a positive bond with the kids. Thinking forward these skills have been an ensencial part of my internship and I am looking forward to using them in college and in the future.
Here is my finalized time sheet for my internship this semester.
