A set of vintage scuba diving gear inside of the storage room. This photo is significant to me because me and my mentor had worked on tidying it up together.
The dining hall inside of the "Berkely" ship. This photo is significant to me because it's where I eat lunch almost every day.
The control room inside of the "USS Dolphine" submarine. This photo is significant to me because I got to help remove and replace some of the worn-down signs
The "Art of navigation" exhibit inside of the "Berkely". This photo is significant to me because I got to assist my mentor with adjusting some of the paintings.
The work that I do for my internship best benefits the Maritime Museum, the volunteers, employees and the people who come visit it. With what I am mostly assigned to work on, such as archiving different books and artifacts into the museums archive site helps everyone involved keep track of everything they own. I have also helped adjust and fix some of the exhibits around the museum to make then look tidier for the visitors. And I also help with assisting staff members and visitors who scheduled a time in the library to help them find certain books.
Over the past year my school has helped me prepare for our 11th grade internship in a few different ways. Last year we got to visit some of the locations that different students were doing and watch their internship IPOL's. At the start of 11th grade, we had an academic couching class where we would work on our resumes and send them out via emails to potential internship. And we also had a whole day going over what we would be doing the day before internship stated.
I am thankful for all the help and support that my school has given me to prepare for my internship. I am thankful to my family for all the care and help they gave me for my internship. I am very thankful to my mentor Kevin for being kind and supportive to me during my time at the museum. And finally, I am very thankful to my teacher Mr. Dan for both suggesting and encouraging me to reach out to the Maritime Museum.
