Frequently Asked Questions

Essential & Supporting Standards in this Unit?

There are a variety of related supporting standards worthy of review before starting this unit; some of them might be embedded in first instruction depending upon the type of activity that is chosen.

How is depth achieved in this unit?

While some of aspects of the supporting standards might be worked into to first instruction, depth can be achieved by examining informal arguments for formulas, scale factors, cross-sections, and rotations of 2D objects.  Extending equations of conic sections to parabolas represents yet another way to dive deeper into this content.
