Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience( Psychology Today 2016 ).
Here at North many of our teachers incorporate mindfulness during the instructional day. This time allows students to breathe deep, reset, and become present in the moment. This short break allows our students to increase their awareness and deepen their learning experience. If you have questions regarding mindfulness please reach out.
