Welcome to Hughes County EMS on the web
Hughes County EMS+ from HCEMS is an ambulance subscription program that offers valuable benefits for Oklahomans of all ages residing in Hughes County EMS' service areas. The Hughes County EMS + Ambulance Membership Plan is not an insurance plan. It is a Hughes County EMS program that works with an individual’s (or families) insurance plan to cover 100 percent of expenses associated with deductibles and copayments. The program is designed to cover the out-of-pocket costs, such as co-payments and deductibles, that Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance companies assign to their members. Unlike standard "gap" insurance coverage, Hughes County EMS + covers all HCEMS emergencies.
Benefits of Hughes County EMS+ apply exclusively to Hughes County EMS service and include:
No co-payments or deductibles for medically necessary emergency ambulance service. Hughes County EMS+ members pay no out-of-pocket costs for emergency transports. HCEMS collects available insurance dollars but does not bill member for deductible, co-payments, and other out-of-pocket costs associated with emergency services.
No co-payments or deductibles for non-emergency ambulance transports approved by members' insurance/Medicare providers.
A 50% cost-reduction of billable rate (equaling hundreds of dollars saved!) on uncovered non-emergency transports for those with insurance and on emergency and non emergency transports for those without insurance.
Annual Fees: Annual Membership fees for those with Insurance are $55 for renewal, $65 for New membership
For those without insurance fees are $155.00 for new and renewal.
Eligibility: The Plan covers ambulance transports originating in Hughes County by Hughes County EMS ambulance units only. The Membership does not cover transports for Mental Health, dialysis, dr. appointments, or wheelchair transports. The Plan covers family members related by blood, adoption, or marriage who permanently reside in the same household as the primary member.
Coverage: If you have insurance, membership will cover the costs that would typically be your responsibility such as deductibles and/or copays. The membership plan will also cover 50 percent of the cost for any trips denied for non-covered charges by the insurance company. If plan members are uninsured, they receive a 50 percent discount on ambulance transportation services.
Coverage period: New member coverage: Completed applications with payment in full, received prior to the end of the calendar year, will be effective on January 1st. Completed applications with payment in full received after January 1st, will be effective on the postmark date.
Renewal member coverage: Completed applications with payment in full, will be effective April 1st. Renewal applications must have a postmark date prior to April 1st in order to avoid an interruption of coverage.
