As an agency that serves a community in rural Oklahoma, preparing for disasters, evacuations and providing service during a disaster are something that we are constantly preparing for. HCEMS is an active participant in disaster response working alongside multiple county agencies including the Office of Emergency Management. During a disaster HCEMS would work alongside local, county and state agencies to facilitate the evacuation of parts of Hughes County in the event that an evacuation is warranted.
HCEMS is also a member of Region 5 Regional Emergency Response System and responds to disasters throughout the State of Oklahoma when requested. This is done to not only provide assistance to our fellow Oklahomans, but to also to better prepare and plan for disasters that may strike Hughes County.
