Students used big cardboard boxes to build a small community. The houses were kept in the gym for our STEM Night
Students studied the life cycle of a flower. Students were able to see the flower and then gathered seeds from the flowers. These seeds were what we sold in our farmers market.
We learned to conduct an experiment and use time to collect data. Students used Hot Wheels tracks to create a ramp and test how slow a car could go and still reach the end of the track. This used the elapsed time skill along with careful calculations.
We played with shapes on the geoboards and divided them into equal parts as many times as we could. Then we made shapes with the geoboards.
We created patterns using equivalent fractions.
We used out creativity to create animals from a pinecone.
We learned about the PH scale with cabbage juice. As I poured the cabbage juice into each chemical, it turned colors.
We have learned about magnets and how they can be used in lots of ways. We are currently working on creating a magnetic latch to help keep Goldilocks out of the Three Bears' house. Magnets are amazing!
